Chocolate Shell Ice-Cream Topping Recipe

Last Update: December 12, 2022

Crack. Breaking through the frozen chocolate shell on top of a sundae or biting into a chocolate-dipped soft serve ice cream cone makes the most satisfying sound. Recreate that moment at home with this “magic” chocolate sauce made with just two ingredients: dark chocolate and coconut oil, which hardens as soon as it comes into contact with cold ice cream. Try it as a dip for frozen bananas or homemade ice cream bars, too!

7 ounces dark chocolate
2 tablespoons coconut oil
