Gut Goddess Dressing Recipe

Last Update: August 31, 2023

Known for its unmistakable green color and herbaceous flavor, this creamy dip and dressing has been popping up on restaurant menus since the 1920s. It’s believed the first goddess recipe was blended up by the executive chef at San Francisco’s Palace Hotel, who named it after actor George Arliss’s hit play, The Green Goddess. Even if you’re not a theater buff, you can still enjoy this zippy sauce at home. Our version uses three types of herbs, a generous amount of garlic, plus probiotic powder for a gut-supporting boost.

Gut Goddess Dressing

Yield: 4 servings
Active Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

1 cup packed parsley leaves
½ cup basil leaves
½ cup tarragon leaves
3 garlic cloves, peeled and roughly chopped
2 scallions, roughly chopped
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon sea salt
4 scoops YouTheory Spore Probiotic Powder
½ cup grapeseed oil
1 cup coconut oil mayonnaise
Water, as needed

Instructions

Add all ingredients except mayonnaise to a blender and process until smooth. Add the mayo and blend again. If the dressing is too thick, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you’re happy with the consistency. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
